2. Remove battery holddown clamp.
3. After removing old battery, clean battery tray. if necessary use wire brush and/or scraper with solution of baking soda and water to remove corrosion. Be sure drain holes are open and there are no stones or other foreign objects in tray.
4. Gently place the new battery in tray. Do not drop it in. Make sure battery is in correct position for connecting the positive (+) and negative (-) cables to it.
5. Clean cable terminal connectors with a wire brush. Replace badly corroded connectors and frayed cables.
6. Place the holddown: clamp over the battery and fasten securely - but not too tightly. Over tightening of holddown may result in distorted or cracked case.
